The Chain of Survival: Prevention-Focused Learning
The Chain of Survival is a tool that was developed to help identify what steps help to protect most effectively against loss of life and lowered quality of life when it comes to injury and illness. However, the same concepts can be applied to all areas of life including the prevention of financial disasters, relationship disasters, and more. Understanding this prevention-based approach can dramatically improve a person’s confidence in navigating their world knowing they have the ability to stack the odds in their favour for experiencing a long life and a high quality of life.

From elementary to post-secondary, learners can be paid to gain valuable knowledge and skills. For teens and adult learners, this can help reduce or even eliminate college and university tuition costs. Learn the foundations of how you can take control of your education, time, and finances. Using Experiential Tools To Overcome Learning Challenges
When the challenge of a learning need results in feeling like education is a battle or like learning has come to a halt, experiential tools can come to the rescue! Learners with advanced academic abilities, ADD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress, and many more learning needs can experience breakthroughs when educators know these principles.
What Are “Experiential Educators”?

How To Fall (Literally!)
Stop running, you might fall! Don’t climb that, you might fall! Many messages in education revolve around preventing reasonable falls without acknowledging the necessity of learning How To Fall in order to prevent truly dangerous falling scenarios and catastrophic injury. Knowing how to fall (ie. action while airborne), how to land (action at the point of impact), and how to get back up (processing a fall and developing resiliency) are critical to experiencing a long length of life and high-quality of life. A highly valuable lesson for all ages, let’s learn how to fall!
Eyes on the Sky: Teaching Weather and Outdoor Safety
How much time do you have before the sun goes down and you lose the light? Is it going to rain? Is that storm just going to bring rain or is it likely to produce lightning or a tornado? Develop basic self-sovereignty skills, reducing reliance on watches and weather apps (they’re great, but you don’t want to be helpless without them!). Instead, learn how to recognize and read important clues in your surrounding environment telling you about the time of day, incoming weather, and if you need to find shelter.

Recognizing and Overcoming Common Sensory Deprivation & Overload
Traditional North American learning techniques press together some deeply stressful sensory deprivation and sensory overload factors at the same time that undermine students’ ability to grow. Learn to identify the challenges and have knowledge and tools for overcoming them so students can thrive!
Recognizing, Navigating, and Using Systems
When learners are unable to recognize societal systems they participate in or are influenced by, they can end up living at the mercy of them. When learners can recognize systems, they can then begin to understand their influence and make conscious choices about how to interact with (or remove themselves from) that system, even taking control to use that system as a tool for their own success.
Preventing Learning Injuries
Humans are both limited and limitless at the same time. How can we help learners achieve their full potential without creating ‘learning injuries’ that are the result of burnout or trauma? Learn about the very real cost of pushing learners past their currently available resources and how to establish continual refreshment of personal resources that keep learners fueled and moving forward.

Ages & Stages: Effective Learning That Reflects Brain Development
Advertising has conditioned educators (especially parents!) to expect outcomes from learners that aren’t reasonable given the part of the brain responsible for that function hasn’t even developed yet! Even adult and senior brains need special considerations! Gain insight into how you can help to lay out the foundations for healthy brain development, brain health, and effective learning throughout life rather than unintentionally undermining brain development and the long-term learning process.
Ew, Nature! Kill It! (and other Colonial messages in education)
Maintaining the lawn and protecting it from damage. Addressing pests and dangerous animals. Identifying plants versus weeds. Many common educational messages regarding respect for property, protection of nature, and care for our environment have elements woven into them that instead result in wasted resources, illness, and environmental destruction. Learn how to recognize the historical influences of elite colonial mentalities and enjoy a new (less stressful, less time-consuming, less expensive, more healthy) relationship with the natural world around you.
Honourable Codes of Combat
There is an important difference between choosing to not fight and not knowing how. Learn how honourable combat (knowing when, why, and how to hit) reduces fighting, reduces combat-related injuries, and creates safer and more respectful learning environments and communities. Participants will be provided with a template and develop their own Code of Honourable Combat. If you grew up with the message to never hit or have ever told a child “don’t hit”, this workshop is highly recommended for you!
